On-line Level I Training

Online Level I OEI Training - April 17-18, 2021

April 17, 2021

April 18, 2021

There has been no major OEI training event in Canada for 2 years, due to COVID-19. It does not appear that those health restrictions will be lifted for at least another 6 months. For that reason, we are offering the first online Level I OEI training in mid-April this year.

Included in the online materials is a demonstration/explanation video link to view before the seminar and to review afterward to consolidate learning. Other electronic materials include a Client Handbook, a handout pack to accompany the weekend, PowerPoint presentations and an audio relaxation recording, journal articles, and OEI forms.

Approximately 75% of the weekend will occur in small breakout groups with a 1:8 trainer-to-trainee ratio. This will ensure that you have opportunities for supervised experience as both “counsellor” and “client”. This is a very “hands-on” (virtual) training event!

PRESENTERS: Rick Bradshaw, PhD RPsych & Audrey Cook, MPhil RCC

SCHEDULE: Saturday, April 17th from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and
Sunday, April 18th from 9:00 am through 5:00 pm

Registrants will be sent links and materials prior to the seminar. Since that constitutes a great deal of intellectual property, and the entire content of the weekend, a $200 fee will be retained from the registration payment if a registrant cancels.

About OEI

OEI is a powerful set of procedures that can be integrated with other forms of treatment including body therapies, neurotherapy, gestalt & enactment, cognitive, couples, play, and art therapy. Trainees should either be psychologists, counsellors, social workers, or psychiatrists; or graduate students in those professions. Others with Certified Trauma Specialist (CTS) designations through the Association of Traumatic Stress Specialists (ATSS) are also eligible.
